Vanilla Cake Sponge

Instructions:

  1. Separate the egg whites from the yolks.

  2. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar while continuing to beat until you get a stiff meringue.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks with the oil and vanilla extract until smooth.

  4. Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the meringue.

  5. Finally, carefully fold in the flour using a spatula until just combined.

  6. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan and bake as desired.
